This app is a webcam client software for your Mac and mobile device (Andriod, iOS). This app enables you to turn the camera-enabled computer working on Mac into the web camera. It allows you to remotely monitor live audio and video feeds from your Mac and mobile device over Wi-Fi and cellular networks.

System Requirements

In order to use this app, you will need:

  • Install uNetCams on your Mac from Mac App Store
  • Install uCamPro, uCamPro HD, uNetCams, uNetCams HD on your iOS device from the iTunes Store

  • Install uCamPro on your Android device from Google Play

  • Internet connection (through Wi-Fi or 3G/LTE) on the mobile device and the Mac
  • To make sure that your webcam and microphone are enabled on your Mac
  • To setup your Cloud account if you want to save your images by referring to Google Drive, Dropbox

Getting Started

You first need two devices to make a pair; Camera(Mac) and Monitor role(iOS, Android, Mac)

<To setup the first device(Mac) as Camera>

Step 1: Do the settings after installing uWebCam on your Mac

  • Select “Settings” button at the upper right tab on the app screen
  • Do the settings by filling out the required fields:
  • - Camera name: Enter the name you want to assign to your Mac device

    - User Name: Enter the user name as you want (case sensitive, 6~24 char size)

    - Password: Enter the password as you want (case sensitive, 6~24 char size)

  • Do the optional settings as follows:
  • - Cloud type: select one of Google, Dropbox or None(default local folder)

    - Motion &audio detect: enable motion & audio detection capability

    - Schedule: snapshots at regular intervals are taken and stored in your local folder or Cloud account

  • Do click “Save Settings” tab in the bottom and then select “Camera” button at the upper left tab

Step 2: Click the "Start" button at the bottom of Camera tab; keep the app running to be monitored from your another device as Monitor role

Step 3: Do the settings after installing uCamPro on the iTunes Store or uCamPro on Google Play on your mobile device or uNetCams on Mac Store on your Mac

  • Do the settings by filling out the required fields:
  • - Camera name: Enter the name you want to assign to your Mac device

    - User Name: Enter the same user name as you used in "uWebCam" settings on your Mac

    - Password: Enter the same password as you used in "uWebCam" settings on your Mac

    - Select Camera Model: uWebCam -> Mac

    - IP or DDNS: Enter the same IP Address as assigned to "uWebCam" settings on your Mac

    - Port: Enter the same Port as assigned to "uWebCam" settings on your Mac

    - Click “Save” button in the settings

    - Select Camera name to connect

Step 4: Connect uCamPro on your mobile device (or uNetCams on your Mac) to your uWebCam on the Mac

Note

You need to make a note as follows:

  • Your devices are required to be connected to public networks
  • Simultaneously capturing both video and audio feed on your device may cause increased video frame and audio delays.
  • If you get UPnP Error message, make sure that UPnP is enabled in your router. If you are still having problems, you need to manually forward ports in your router by referring to http://portforward.com/guides.htm
